By David Rogers. BOONE, N.C. — Eleven Watauga men’s soccer players were named to the Northwestern Conference “all conference” squad for the 2022 season, the league announced on Nov. 14. Watauga finished as conference champions and special individual recognition went to Kai Suyao as “Defensive Player of the Year.” Hibriten’s Gerardo Rodriguez was named “Player of the Year while Jim Blanton, head coach of Hibriten, grabbed “Coach of the Year” honors.
